Architecture, to me, is the physical manifestation of the story we wish to tell.  Whether it's historic, aspirational, communal, environmental, collective, familial, or individual - it's the context - and its integrity is fundamental to design.

I heard once that as designers we curate space to provide an experience that is unique to the user. I believe this to be true.

So, what is that I can contribute to your story?

As a child I enjoyed drawing and color coordination.  Eventually I got a series of Lego sets.  2400 pieces belonging to no particular plan, shape , or object. As my older brother could attest, from this I created buildings, vehicles, and developed floor plans in 3d from my imagination.  I didn't know it at the time, but this foreshadowed a career in this industry.

Later I would work in the construction industry.  First, starting on a Civil Construction crew building underground networks, prepping sites, roadways, and sidewalks. Eventually this led me to work with a General Construction crew.  I learned how to build.  Concrete work, rebar, foundations, columns, and wood framing.  Then came the formal education and 11 years of work experience in a few architectural firms, and becoming accredited at the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) before starting my own practice.  Each of these experiences, varied as they were, informed the person I am today.  A designer, home cook, a father, and husband.

Nearly 20 years of experience summarized in the paragraph above. That is what I can contribute.  A lifetime of learning, experiences, collaborations, and explorations preparing me to be your designer.
