Philosophy

“Think well to the end, consider the end first” ~ Leonardo da Vinci

My Story has taught me that meaningful work begins with relationships, experience, intention, and integrity. A successful project is not only completed; it is felt — in the fulfillment of the client, in the richness of the collaboration, and in the quiet confidence of a design shaped with clarity and purpose. Long before pen is put to paper, the work begins with me listening to Your Story

My Design Philosophy favours economy with grace: not wasting a moment, element, or material. It seeks efficient spaces and structures that consider cost without surrendering beauty, integrity, enjoyment, or fulfillment. In an age increasingly shaped by climate change and rising energy costs, I favour robust building envelopes and passive design strategies instead of overly active mechanical systems. These practical choices help buildings answer the needs and practicalities of today while being prepared for tomorrow. I strongly believe that a building should not only compliment its environment and context, but enhance them.  I always try to find a means of optimizing all aspects of the site and program by turning perceived weaknesses into strengths through positive consideration and intuitive problem solving skills I utilize that makes my work unique.

Collaboration with the client, design team, and contractor is at the heart of how I work. Grounded in good faith and integrity, my process depends on organized, consistent, and informed communication and strategies from start to finish.

Trust in the Process.  Trust in the Design.
